Chaka’s Rock Chalets, situated in Ballito, gets into the Christmas spirit, and lends a hand to Zilungisele Primary School. In preparation for the New Year, and the hot summer months, the resort installed some much needed ceiling fans in the class rooms.

Salome Chetty, a teacher from the school had this to say, “I have seen the many needs of the school and the most urgent one being good infrastructure for the learners. Although we have not received many funds to help us renovate we try our very best to help our learners receive the best quality of education that they deserve”.

The school has 700 learners from Grade R to Grade 9 and has been in existence for 40 years. Most of the learners are orphans and come from underprivileged families.  The school consists of nineteen teachers, one Principal Mr AS Khumalo, a Deputy Principal and three HODS’. On Wednesday, the 3rd of December the Zilungisele Primary School were treated to a Christmas meal. Chaka’s Rock Chalet and their resort Mascot, Fred First was on hand to entertain the children with a fun dance and help to serve the food to the children.
