Africa Bike Week returns to Margate

One of the most exciting events to take place on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal is just around the corner, with Africa Bike Week kicking off on Thursday, 28 April until Sunday 1 May. The small, coastal town of Margate comes alive during this time, playing host to the festivities and a number of live entertainment acts to perform over the weekend.

So, what is Africa Bike Week all about?

This annual event brings all Harley-Davidson enthusiasts, riders, admirers and their families and friends together from across the country to celebrate at one of the biggest free biker bashes on the continent! If bikes, biking and bikers are your thing, Africa Bike Week should be marked in on your calendar.

The week will be jam packed with demos, exhibitions, trade markets, ride-in shows, mass rides, live entertainment and meet and greets with fellow riders and bike enthusiasts.

Even if you aren’t a biker or biking enthusiast, the typically sleepy town of Margate truly comes to life during this time and the vibe is electric.

If you are staying at any one of our First Group properties in Margate during this time, you’re in luck as you will be in the heart of all the action. Margate Sands will be the ideal base from which to experience the festivities, with the Africa Bike Week main stage stationed at Margate Main Beach, located right outside the front of property.

Costa Smeralda, La Cote d’Azur, Palm Park and Club Hacienda are also excellent places to stay at during this exciting event on the south coast, and are also little farther removed from the buzz of all the festivities if you want to escape back to tranquility.
