  1. Chapman’s Peak Drive

Affectionately known as ‘Chappies’ by locals, Chapman’s Peak is a beautifully dramatic drive, albeit only 9 kilometres, along the Atlantic coastline, linking Hout Bay and Noordhoek. Chapman’s Peak is known as a superb feat of engineering and forms one of the toughest legs of the Cape Argus Cycle Tour.

  1. Clarence Drive, Route 44

The Clarence Drive, also known as Route 44, is right up there next to a meander along Chapman’s, with a combination of a deep blue seas, mountain peaks, quaint seaside villages, nature reserves, whale watching and hiking trails. This drive connects Gordon’s Bay with Betty’s Bay in the Western Cape.

  1. The Garden Route

The Garden Route is an evergreen coastal corridor that runs along the south east coast of South Africa. Follow the N2 from Mossel Bay to Storms River and on to Cape Town and experience lush, natural beauty you will be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in South Africa.

  1. The Midlands Meander

The KwaZulu-Natal Midlands Meander winds 80 picturesque kilometres between the Southern Drakensberg and Pietermaritzburg. With its rolling green meadows, fresh country air, plethora of quaint farm stalls and welcoming restaurants and hotels all backed by the presence of the dramatic Drakensberg range, an amble along this route is well worth the time.

  1. The Panorama Route

Arguably the most scenic of all provinces is that of Mpumalanga, with its cascading waterfalls, deep canyons, lush bushveld and ancient rock and cave formations. The Panorama Route links Sabie, Graskop, Pilgrim’s Rest, Mac Mac Pools and Falls, Graskop, the Pinnacle, God’s Window, Wonder View, Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and the Three Rondavels – a truly awe inspiring drive.

  1. The West Coast Flower Route

Although this natural phenomenon only occurs once a year, for about three months at a time, the wild daisy season of the Namaqualand is a sight to behold. Just after the first winter rains the desert scrub land comes alive in a dance of colour and is worth a day trip up the West Coast to meander along the Daisy Route.
