Wouldn’t you like to wake up to a stunning view of the Indian Ocean and palm trees? Chaka’s Rock Chalets is the ideal spot to spend some time away from your daily routine and have a relaxing family getaway. If you happen to visit the resort this month you might be luck because at the moment the resort is growing their own delicious Avocado’s. Yup, it’s true! They also have a veggie garden with some tasty butternut and spinach.

Three Interesting Facts about Avocados:

  1. Avocados are the size of a baby in its mother’s womb at 16 weeks.
  2. Avocados are one of the only fruits that contain heart-healthy monounsaturated fat (the good-for-you fat).
  3. Did you know that avocados mature on the tree, but they only ripen once they are off the tree?

Don’t miss out on Chaka’s Rock Chalet’s weekly bring and braai’s! This is a wonderful chance to mingle with the other guests, catch up with the Resort Manager, Berverly and meet her team.  The kiddies are welcome to bring along some marshmallows and roast them over the fire provided there is someone available to assist them. For the parents we have an onsite wellness spa, Cellu-Beauty. If you are in the mood for a facial, back massage or couple’s therapy then pop into the spa open from 8am to 5pm.

There are various shopping malls situated in Ballito and Umhlanga. “One of my favourite shopping malls in Umhlanga is Gateway. It offers a variety of entertainment, fashion and food. There are quite a few restaurants to choose from and the one I would recommend is Tasha’s.  I love their décor, menu and atmosphere,” says First Resorts blogger, Lungi Mthethwa.

Summer can be quite hot and winters mild. So if you need some advice on what to pack please feel free to contact us. We look forwards to welcoming you and your family to the resort for a restful holiday.
