Bella Vista resort made the decision to assist SOS Children’s Villages by getting involved in some of their awesome projects. Since Thursday, 13th of March the resort has implemented three of the organizations projects such as the collection of tinned foods. At Bella Vista you will find a, neatly decorated and placed next to our resort mascot, Fred First. Guests are welcome to drop off some cans of food. There are also two collection tins that have been brought by the organization to collect money.

Another special project that Bella Vista is involved in is the Denim Drive. SOS Children’s Villages would like to encourage everyone to donate their old and unwanted denim jeans to the organization. The donated denim is recycled into fashionable items that are sold to generate an income for single parents and grandmothers.

SOS Children’s Villages are an independent, non-governmental and social development organization that aims to provide care and support for children that stay in the villages. There are 8 SOS Children’s Villages in South Africa and about 3 social centres operating.  Besides taking care of the children and providing them with loving homes the organization has also implemented various educational and development programmes to the assist the children as well as families that are taking care of the orphans.

“I decided to get involved in this organization after hearing that it was becoming difficult for the villages to function. I then decided to get in touch with the Corporate Fundraiser and find out which projects we could assist with. Since then we have implemented the projects at the resort and we hope that our guests will join us in reaching the organization’s goal which is to create loving homes for children in need,” says Tracy Govender, Resort Manager of Bella Vista.
